I only know a limited amount of information about Lottie. I know she was my grandfather
s half sister. My Grandfather was Edward Sturdevant, the youngest of six sons that William J. Sturdevant and Martha Sowell had. Martha was William's second wife. I know that William and his first wife Mary were born in Illinois. If you have any information you can share that would be great. I know that Lottie had several sisters, but I don't know all of their names.

My gr. grandfather wasWilliam E.Sturdevant. His fathers name was John (don't know his mothersname) and his grandfathers name was also John married to Harriet Simpson. This family branch came from Virginia then up to Iowa. William had a brother named Tracy and 2 sisters named Rose and Gretchen. Can anyone help with this family research?

My ggrandfather was James K. Sturdevant. I have been told that he had a brother John who married a Harriet Simpson. James K. father was Addison. They lived in Iowa. Would Addison name be John Addison? Do you think we have a connection ? James K was in the Civil War?

I do not know if this is the right family but in my Sturdevant tree there is an Addison Sturdevant that would about match your description.

My Addison was b 4/26/1810 in OH he d 4/22/1888. He was m to Elizabeth Shisler. She was b 5/28/1806 in OH and d 11/20/1854 in Mahaska Co., IA. I did not have any record of children but no specific note the they did not have any either. Addison's parents were Zar Sturdevant and Rachel Brown. I have lots of particulars on the Sturdevant ancestors before Zar as well. if you are interested. Hope that this helps as Addison is not a very common name. Most of this info is however not documented in many cases so be wary of specifics. If this proves to be a match I would like to get the particulars on the childrens families. Thanks.

Norm,

There are a lot of people out there trying to tie Addison in. This is great news. Please consider joining our group at STURDEVANT@YAHOOGROUPS.COM. We can provide you with lots of information, and hopefully you can help many of us fill in our blanks. Zar Sturdevant (Senior) was my great, great, great grandfather...

If you would prefer to share your information on Zar at this site, I will pass it on. Thank you very much!

Norm,
I would love to know more about the Addison Sturdevant and his parents Zar and Rachel. I have the information on Addison's children and grandchildren if you would like to have it. Do you know where you found his parents? I have been searching forever...I too thought Zar was the father but couldn't make it fit!
any help you can give or I can give you would be great!
