I have a 1921 reunion booklet given to my late mother in law's mother that has the whole shooting match for the Redmans and the Bennetts from 1700, including girls and their husbands.

So, are you selling the book or what? Do you perform look-ups upon request?

Nope, just trying to figure out how I can help other people track down people.

This book chronicles the descendants of one Solomon Redman of "VA"
Children are Joseph, James, William, Fannie and Sally. They migrated with BAsil Bennett and some Kesters (named within the booklet) to Spencer County KY, then to Edgar County IL later. It documents that 3 branches left VA, to eastern Ohio, to KY and some to Indiana, who were never heard from again...

What is most important is the documentation of the girls' husbands names when the census only named the men.

I'd be happy to look up anyone who fits the profile.

Am I correct in assuming that you are talking about Solomon REDMAN n=10 Oct 1752 VA,Richmond-Co
m=Mary NORTHEN=NORTHERN=NORTHMORE
with Solomon being about 5 generations down from his REDMAN immigrant ancestor ?

If so could you please tell me the wives' maiden names for Solomon's sons named William, James & Vincent ?

Thank you,
NICOLE

Vincent was married to Levisa Bennett (family from whom my mother in law's mother came from) BUT HE WAS THE SON of Joseph Redman, the oldest child of Solomon Redman.
James Redman was also a son of Solomon according to this book, but in this case, the wife's maiden name is not named, only that they moved to Kentucky.
William Redman did inot marry.
Sallie Redman married Franklin Stout
Fannie Redman married Abner Norman.
According to this booklet, Solomon and Sallie Gage had Joseph, James, William, Fannie and Sallie "and others dying in childhood"
Joseph Redman was married to Lucy Bennett (see above) The Bennetts and Redmans are confusedly connected as they move westward from Ky to IL, with the Kesters and the Normans.

This is wierd :) ... I was asking about REDMANs &
you mentioned 2 other names I have also been researching.

I am searching backwards from a REDMAN & STOUT marriage.
The oldest known STOUT ancestor I have is Aaron STOUT m=25 Dec 1820
KY,Jefferson-Co to Sarah=Sally=Sallie SHANNON=SHANNAN.
They moved to Indiana.

> Fannie Redman married Abner Norman.

This Abner had a sister Martha "Patsy" NORMAN
m=03 Jan 1818 KY,Shelby-Co to an Aaron STOUT.
I have often thought this Aaron STOUT is related to the one I mentioned first
... but I have never been able to find any thing about a possible relationship,

Is there any more info on NORMANs married to STOUTs or REDMANs ?

> Sallie Redman married Franklin Stout

I only had Sallie married to a Joseph SWOPE.
Does it give any dates or parents for this STOUT ?

> According to this booklet, Solomon and Sallie Gage

I have Solomon married twice - 1773 to NORTHMORE.
Do you have a marriage date for GAGE ?

> The Bennetts and Redmans are confusedly connected as they
> move westward from Ky to IL, with the Kesters and the Normans

I knew that the BENNETs & REDMANs went from Kentucky to Illinois
but I was not aware that that they were accompanied by NORMANs & KESTERs too.

Thanks very much for your help :)

why don't you email me at 9zzz999@gmail.com

I think I have lots of information. I am willing to share, as long as it is personal, not for financial gain or professional interest.

Fannie had these kids
Sallie, Millie (Amelia) Mary Gage Norman, Solomon Redman Norman, Isacc Norman, twin of SR died in infancy. I can see where is is buried online somewhere.

Franklin Stout was the son of James Stout b. 1809
He's in the 1850 census with all the kids.

More on real email.

Not so sure about the Stout info I sent earlier, wrong generation, right name

Martha Norman b 14 Mar 1821 was also the daughter of Abner Norman. She married James Crutcher in Spencer Cty KY and had a large number of children.

no marriage date for Sallie Gage, Joseph oldest child born 8/6/1774 in VA.

Joseph Redman, Solomon's oldest son (they LOVED this name) married Lucy Bennett. Her daughter Emily married Byran Kester. Lucy Bennett was the daughter of Basil Bennett and Matilda Dawson. Lucy was born 9/24/1790. Emily REdman was born 2/24/1824 in Spencer Cty, KY

Are you aware of the two Redmans who were commandants of Treasure Island, SF, CA during WWII? Joseph (again) and John, I think. They were my late mother in law's uncles or great uncles.

There is a Joseph Redman of IL who is buried in thePresidio of SF. I have photo.

Again 9zzz999@gmail.com works best.

I have a copy of Marion T. BENNETT's book HISTORY OF THE BENNETT FAMILY: EIGHT GENERATIONS TO 1960 that I would like to share with those who are REDMANS and who travelled with the BENNETTS and sometimes intermarried with them.

They began their friendship in England, most likely; went to VA, KY, ILL and my own line went from IL to MO.

Marion T. included a lot of information about the Redmans, quoted from a newspaper article written by one Redman, and attached an Appendix with REDMAN genealogy.

I am interested in sharing resources, networking with other associated families that Redmans, Drakes, Kesters, Normans, O'Bannons, Dawsons, Deans, and others associated with the BENNETT family, especially in England, Virginia, Illinois, but also elsewhere as the Bennetts split off to Ohio and Indiana (all were lost there evidently), and perhaps the Carolinas, not sure about that.
