Hi,

I am searching for info regarding Hardy Hunter and Rachel. I have seen family files which list her maiden name as Roundtree and Reddett. Does anyone have info which can document her maiden name? I'm also trying to tie in Calvin Hunter of Sumner Co., TN who married Susannah and Sarah Ann Mayes with Cader Hunter who was in Sumner Co. (West Fork Drakes Creek)at least by 1818 when he is found on the tax list along with Needham, Adam, Demsey and Lewis Hunter. Would sincerely appreciate any help anyone could provide.

Thanks in advance,
Colleen

Hardy and Rachel are my 4th ggf/m. Rachel is identified as a Reddick in "Nicholas Cobb, Descendants, Neighbors and Relations" but without documentation. The will of Charles Rountree (1760) identifies a daughter Rachel and also mentions a grandson Cador Hunter, and from the will she seems the logical mother. My guess is that she's a Rountree. I believe this Cador died in Bertie NC, but there are many others in Bertie at that time.
The Sumner Co Hunters are much researched cousins of this line. Dempsey and others migrated to TN from Richland Co SC about 1800. We don't know how/when they got to SC.
