Casey,
My grandmother's maiden name was Hulda Matilda Muck, but there could be a Matilda somewhere as I don't have much info past her father who was Ferdinand aka Fred Muck. He was born in Germany. I think his father was Franz aka Frank but not sure of the mother's name. My grandmother's middle name could have come from a family name. My grandmother was born in WI in 1885. Does this help any? Carol

Carol-

I was wondering who your grandmother was married too? From my findingings my Matilda's father was Fred Muck. Also, there was information on a Frank Much, I think he was Freds dad. Do you have any dates of brith for your grandmother?

My grandmother was born July 18, 1885 in Angelica, WI. Her mother was Wilhelmina aka Minnie Luecke born Mar. 9, 1860 in Manitowoc, WI. Her father was Ferdinand aka Fred Muck born in 1853 in Berlin, Germany. My grandmother married Edwin Johnson born May 21, 1886 in Marshfield, WI. Fred's father was Franz L. aka Frank Muche aka Much aka Muck. he was born Mar. 9, 1823 in Poland, died Feb.10, 1893 in Shawano County, WI. I do have listed as a daughter of Franz a Tillie Muck. I don't have any dates for her however. Does any of this fit? Carol

Hi!
In further research in the 1880 census I have a Frank Muck born in Luxumbourg about 1853 living in the town of Angelica, WI. His wife is listed as Caroline and has a daughter Matilda age 12 and a son Herman age 10 living with them. Ethey are living near Fred and Minnie ( my greatgrandparents) and near Charles Muck (Fred's brother). I know that this Frank Muck is my gggrandfather and Fred and Charles are his sons. This Matilda would be a ggrand aunt of mne. If this is your Matilda then we are related. The differences I have in the place of birth for Frank is because of all the changing borders in Europe over the years and the census records are not always accurate. Hope this helps. Carol

I do have a little more info and possibly some pictures but it will take me some time to find it all since I am working on about 6 different families right now and my records are in kaos right now. I will certainly get back to you on this. Who are your parents and Grandparents? Do they live in the shawano county area? Do you live in WI? I live in Wausau, WI but grew up in Green Bay and lived in Pulaski for awhile.

I understand what you mean. I am working on my family tree and it is a mess. Take your time finding the information and any photos. My g grandma is Meta Madison and she married Oscar Gagnow. They had my grandmother Violet, who married Eugene Klosterman. They had my mom, Becky, who married Craig Arrowood. Then there is me. Yes we are from the shawano area. My parents and I live in Shawano. I also found out were Frank and Caroline's grave site is. They were buried in Zion Evangelical Cemetery in Bonduel. I really hope you have some photos of the family. Can't wait to hear back from you.

Thanks for telling me where Frank and Caroline are buried. I often go out to the cemeteries to photograph the tombstones. If I get more pictures of that side of the family I'll send them on. Carol
