Hi... I am from Pittsburgh and my grandfather settled there after immigrating from Italy. The surname is synonomous, meaning the Amicone name is from one blood line and after I find out more information I will post it here.

Hello- I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am looking for my roots. My grandfather was Stephano Amicone. He was from Forli. I am not sure if there is more than one Forli. I located a Forli just south of Balogna. He was born about 1873 and had a brother named Carmelio and a sister named Flora. I am not sure if there were any other siblings. I have come across some Amicones that were from Forli Del Sannio. I am not sure if this is the same Forli that is up in the Emilia Romagna region. My Grandmother was Antonetta Iamurri and she was from Carpanone in the Molise region. This leads me to believe that there might be a Forli in that region. I have my gandmothers parents Leonardo Iamurri and Raphaela Tamasi. Grandpa Amicone imigrated to the US but returned to Italy to find him a wife. He returned with my gandmother and they lived in Salt lake the rest of their lives. My father James is still alive but cannot give me any information. if you have any information about the Amicones I would appreciate it. Doug.

Hi! I am searching for my husband, Robert, and our kids, to find their ancestors. His father's name was Tony Amicon (originally Antonio Amicone); he came from Castel di Sangro, Italy in ~1924, settled first in Pennsylvania and then in Columbus, Ohio. His father's name was Salvatore Amicone and his mother was Vincenza Yacbucco Amicone. Their children were Rocco, Antonio, Anna Marie, Gus, and Armando. I believe Salvatore had brothers or cousins, John and Charles, who settled in Columbus, Ohio. If you have any information about the Amicon's/Amicone's I've mentioned, please contact us by email. Graci!

Hi Doug--My husband's great grandfather, John Amicon, is supposedly from Forli.
I can't get too much history from the older relatives--they just don't know/remember--Anyhow, I know he immigrated and settled in the
Columbus, Ohio area. He was a produce vendor, and grew his business into a multistate enterprise. He had farms out west and in Ca, and had a
lot of his family working for him. I am wondering if this fits with your family history. He eventually lost it all during the depression, but I gather they
were rather wealthy when times were good. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Sue

My husband's great grandfather was a John Amicon--and he was from Forli. He was in the produce business--does that ring any bells.
I have never heard of him relocating to Mansfield. What was your grandmother's name--Theresa, by any chance? Who was your mother? Mike's grandmother is Clara Amicon Coughlin, and she is still living in Columbus, but failing fast.
She is in her 90's. In fact, most of her sisters are still a live, and they were from a large family!
Hope to hear from you soon. Sue

Good to hear from you. I am sure we are all related. I found the correct Forli. It is Forli del Sannio in Campobasso in the Molise Region. There are about 7 listings there in the white pages for Amicone. I have my grandfathers birthdate.I checked with the LDS Church web site and the records are there I just have to order the michrofiche. I have just been too busy. I run a a small store in Inarajan, Guam. It keeps me real busy. I am retired Navy. That explains how I got to Guam. I am looking forward to leaving this island. I just need a buyer for my business so I can return to the States. My grandfather Amicone was very successful at farming and owned a lot of property in the Salt lake City area. He also owned property in Bingham Canyon which he sold to Kennecot
Copper Corporation. I remember my grandfather even though he died when I was 7 years old. My grandmother's maiden name was Iamurri her father was Leonardo Iamurri and his wife was Raffaela Tamasi. I go through every data base that I recieve from Ancestry.com sends me in their news letter for Amicone, Iamurri. and Tamasi. I have a lot of info. I have a John Amicone from Columbus Ohio that I got from the data base "Full Context of Ohio Military Men, 1917,1918". That is probably your John Amicone. I think the Amicon was originaly Amicone. It lists Abucia, Italy as his birth place not Forli but that doesn't mean anything he might have moved to Forli. Anyway check it out. I am planning to visit Forli next year. Keep in touch.
