I have collected some information on Di Renzos as that is my gr-gr-grandmothers name. Don't know if what I have is pertinent, but willing to send it to you so you can determine. Most information from mid-1800's, Lama dei Peligni, Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy.

Thank you so much for the response. We may be in the same family line as the village name is correct to the best of our knowledge. Please contact me via e-mail lyn276@paonline.com so we can possibly arrange for the transfer of information. It would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I can not be helpful to you in your search since I have so little to go on. I think I have MArianna's parents name but at this point I am not sure of that either

My grandfather's name was Angelo DiRenzo. He is said to have come through Ellis Island in the early part of this century. He married Linda Raggozino. He may have had a wife previously in Italy who died previously. He studied in Abbrozzo and I am told he was an attorney.

One other thing...I met several times a Frank Russo in Philadelphia at meetings I attended.. are you from that area?

My father came from that area of Italy with his mother and father and siblings. I would appreciate any information you have about the DiRenzo family from this area. I am just starting to collect information about my family and any help will be graciously accepted.

My grandmother's name was Philomena DiRenzo. Is that a coincidence or is there a connection? She married Guiseppe. I will find out when they came through Ellis Island and let you know. I had a friend who has since passed away. He was from Abruzzo and I think from Lama Dei Peligni. He once showed pictures of a cemetary from that area. There were many DiRenzo stones and so cripts. Some conversation, but I guess that is how this information is tracked down.

Hi Jim,

I came across your surname on the message boards. I accidentally received a marriage certificate for a coachman named Domenico DiRenzo, from Chieti, married in Collecorvino, Pescara, Abruzzo in 1913.

I don't know if this has any value to you, but I can email the certificate as an attachment. I'm still not sure if this is my grandfather. he was born in the late 1880s.

Good Luck,
Bill Tianello
