Do you know if your family always spelled their name Janak? I have
some information concerning the Jonak family that started in New York.
My uncle side of the family spells their last name as Janak, and my
father spells it Jonak. But let me know if I can be of any help with
your search. Any information on Janak name I will keep and pass along
to you.

As far as I can tell none of my family immigrated to Canada.
But will keep a look out for you. My family came from Radlow,
Poland, or around that area.

From what I know none of my relatives were not from the Czech Republic, but from Poland. But I do know that there were some Janak's that lived in Nebraska. From what my father has told me, his brothers and sister, when they went to school were made to write their last name as Janak. Because there were other Janak's in the area. Why I don't know. Since their last name was Jonak. By this time my grandfather and grandmother were divorce, and my father lived with his father. I will check the census reports for Nebraska and see what I can find out and let you know. What I find might be of help to you.

My great-grandmothers maiden name was Albina Janak and she grew up in Nebraska (Butler county). If you would be able to tell me how they are related that would be great.

Thanks!
