I don't know anything about a Peter but I was wondering if there could be a family connection. My great grandparents, Michael and Michaeline (Mathey) Kaczmarek also came from Poland to Pittsburgh about 1883. They brought two daughters, Victoria(age 4) and Mary (age 3)with them. Two sons Casmier Charles (1893) and Stanley (1886) were born in Pittsburgh.

There COULD be a connection as many times people came over with other family members. I have not yet found when my Kazimier came over from Poland, but I know it was before his wife Frances and 2 of his children did in 1899-1900. Considering that you have the names Casimer and Victoria lead me to believe there MAY be a connection somewhere here. I think if I could find my ancestor on a passenger list, I could find out if he came with a brother or sister.

Let's keep each other posted, ok?

My father was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and his parents came over from Poland in 1910 via boat. There were 10 children in the family, and the oldest son, Cashmir, died on the way to the United States. The remaining brothers and sisters live in Pittsburgh, PA.
Please write back. I look forward to hearing from you and the ancestry tree. My dad's mother's maiden name was Joann Sternalski.

My GGrandparents Michael and Michalena Kaczmarek immigrated from Poland to Pittsburgh, PA about 1882. They stayed there for about 5 years before moving to Wisconsin. Their families came from Szamotuly in the District of Posen, Poland and Oberniki in Posen, Poland. Do you know what area of Poland your ancestorys are from? Please e-mail me at

My great grandmother is Joan Sternalski. I am her daughter Frances's granddaughter. I'm trying to find out more information about that side of my family (sadly I never thought to ask my grandma about this stuff before she passed away). If you have any info to share I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Still looking to connect with other Kaczmareks in my line. My GGrandparents, Michael & Michalena Kaczmarek (Kaczmarek was also Michalenas maiden name), immigrated from Poland to Pittsburgh, PA about 1883. They stayed in Pittsburgh for about 5 years before moving to Flintville, WI. Their families came from the area around Szamotuly,Posen, Poland and the Oborniki area, Posen, Poland. Michael was born 1852 and Michalena was born 1855. I have done extensive research on the family in Poland and am willing to share.
I was told we had relatives in the Milwaukee and Chicago area and would love to make a connection.
