My grandfather's first name is unknown. He
did not return from civil war. Was married
to Winiford Queen. They resided in Marks,Ms,
Quitman county. Seven children. Ralph,Randy,
Edgar Eugene,James lafayette (my father),Jesse,
Vada and Margret. I believe they are of French
decent. Any help or info would be greatly
appreciated. Does anyone know who lived on the
Stovall Plantation in Coahoma county,MS?

Hi Denise. Sorry I can't answer your question myself, but I do know of a website that may be of interest to you. The Stovall Family Association has a website at www.bhm.tis.net/~stovall/ that may help with your search. Good luck.

The Stovall's have lived on the Stovall Plantation since the 1860's. It is now owned and operated by Carter Stovall. The Stovall's have been growing cotton since before 1911, when the movie "Cabin in the Cotton" was filmed at the Stovall plantation. My Great Grandmother was Viola Stovall Barbee.

Looking for any info on Stovall brothers, (3),
who got in trouble w/law and moved to Texas.
May have been orphans. This was mid 1800 to late
1800. One brother named Benjamin Phillip Stovall,
may have been married, an other brother was named
John. Phillips wife was killed in a train accident on
her way to Texas at a later time. Please reply w/any
info to my e-mail address.
