Good to hear from you, sorry I don't know of a connection, but there may be as I don't have a lot of info on the Watt family. My wife's grand mother came over on the Titanic when she was 13 with her mother so I am afraid information was lost. If you think it would help you, check out my family web site at www.mtstudios.com/marshall. If you have some info that fits, please e-mail me at the above address I would love to hear from you. Good Luck. MT

I have some information about the Watt backgroud. My Grandmother Mother was a Watt who married Joseph Samuel McSpadden. I don't have the information on me right now but I can tell you the James Watt you are looking for arrived in the United States in 1796 in Virginia. From there he was in Tennessee for some time. Off hand I can't remember exactly where in Scotland/Ireland he came from I have all this information written down. I have been researching the Watt, McSpadden for over a year. I got alot of information by going to Scottish Highland Games. I can tell you this it is a very old name. The reason I put Scotland/Ireland because in the research books I have looked at has Watt listed in both countries. I did find a book that had James Watt (the one you are looking for) listed and where he went after leaving Scotland/Ireland and what he did.

I hope this help. I will get out my information and send it to you soon. My email address is patriciapardue@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Nice to hear from you. The James Reid Watt I have was born in Scotland in 1868. The only info we have on his parents is that his father was James Watt and mother was Mary Reid. I don't think this is the same line. Thanks for looking.

I am attending a genealogy class and am interested in finding any information on Samuel or William Watt, from Western Pennsylvania, perhaps a father and son who may have fought in the Revolutionary War.

My wife and I visited Scotland four years ago and went to Aberdeen from where the Watt family appears to have come, but were not able to stay and do any research.

I would be interested in any general information you might have about the Watt family, particularly when and to where some appear to have migrated to Ireland. Samuel and William may have come from Ireland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
