PGT's first wife was Marie Laure Villere, the
sister of Charles Villere. She lived at
her father's plantation, Magnolia, on the
Mississippi River about 14 miless south of
New Orleans. They married in September 1841.
A son Rene was born at Magnolia. A few years
later, another son, Henri, was born in New
Orleans. In March 1850, Marie Laure died
giving birth to a daughter, Laure Villere.

A few years later, PGT married Caroline
Deslonde, sister of John Slidell, U.S.
Senator and one of the Louisiana bosses.
They had no children. Caroline died in New
Orleans on March 2, 1864, following two years
of serious illness.

Caroline Deslonde (1830-1864) was my G-G-Great Grandmothers (Rosella Deslonde's) sister. Caroline and Rosella's brother was not Sen. John Slidell. He did however marry into the family. He married Mathilde Deslonde (1818-1870).

I am looking for information on PTG Beauregard's family...brothers, uncles, etc. and general family line. Place of birth, etc. Trying to trace a link to my family who we believed changed their name in the mid-1800's from Beauregard to Vincent. Any info would be appreciated.

It appears as though you may have more information than I do on the Beauregard family. I can't seem to find any information on Francoise except that she was married out side the faith and the Beauregard family was told never to mention her name again. I have reason to believe that Judith is my relative and that she married my GGG Grandfather Robert James Faith. It appears that she may have changed her name to Sarah Bogard. A family bible in the possession of Henry McHenry in Illinois has listed Sarah Bogard as Judith Beauregard. One of Sarah's children was James Bogard (sometimes spelled Beauregard) when asked what the B stood for, James replied that it was for General Pierre Beauregard who was a brother to his mother Sarah. Do you have any light to shed on this mystery? We would like to know if Judith is our long lost GGGGrandmother or not. Thanks for your time. Toni

Gen.Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard was born in St. Bernard Parish, LA. His parents were Jacques Elie Toutant Beauregard and Judith Heleine Antonia de Reggio. Check St. Benard Church or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at New Orleans, LA for records of the family. The St. Bernard Parish site on www.usgenweb.net has a neat biography of Gen. Beauregard.
