Ravenna was never refered to as Furnace. There is a site where the first iron smelting furnace in the area (Estill Steam Furnace) is located that is often refered to as " Old Furnace or Furnace" The place is on the Estill/Powell Counties border.
The Billings family cemetery is located directly behind the ruins of the old furnace. There are several other local family names listed on the tombstones.
