I am looking for my Grandmother's family. Christine Chisholm of Truro Nova Scotia. Married in Saskatchewan to James Scollon about 1918. She died around 1945 but not sure exact year. I know she had a brother who I believe died in his 20's in a car accident. If anyone has any info on this please pass it on, Thanks, Gail Scollon

Thanks for the message Bill. Yours is the only response I have had but it sounds very promising. She would be about the right age for my Grandmother. Do you know where I could find out anything more about her and her family, who she married, sibblings etc? Once again thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Gail Scollon

Hi Gail:
In my research of Colchester County Chisholm's, I have a Christine, b.18 Oct.1881, listed in the Truro School Registry of 1887, and in July of 1895 (when her age was given as 13 years,9 months and 13 days old). I think I got her age from the 1901 census but would have to check this again.Although she is not part of my family, I have her parents as John Duncan Chisholm and Elizabeth Greenough formerly of Petpiswick, Halifax County, but residing in Colchester sometime after the 1871 census was taken. Hope this might be of some use to you!
Regards Bill

Hi Gail

My family tree is connected though John Duncan Chisholm's son Alexander Henry. AH was my great grandfather, a carriage painter. After having alltheir children in NS they moved to Edmonton. I was surprised to see the name Scollon pop up as I am certain I have a photo that my grandmother referred to as 'a Scollon boy' in my family history boxes. I'd be happy to get you a scan of it or send you the original. I look forward to hearing from you as I still have many unfinished info. Thanks also to Bill as his notes from this thread add good info for me too.
