Father was John P.Welch from N.Carolina. Mother was Annie Elizabeth Blythe from S.Carolina. They may have been married in N.C. around 1815. David was married to Rebecca Varnoy around 1850 in N.C. If anyone recognizes these names please respond.Thank you in advance!

I have a John Welch born 1790 and Elizabeth Blythe Welch born 1804 and lived in Cherokee Co., N.C. They had 12 children. Their son David that married Rebecca Vannoy came to Indain Territory (Okla) and after he died Rebecca married a Harlan. Do you think this is the same family that you are looking for.

Yes, this could be a possible match! My Aunt Janice has John Welch b:1783 d:1855 and Betty Elizabeth Blythe b:1795 d:1885 in Cherokee Co.,N.Carolina. One of their sons was David who married Rbecca Vannoy and their daughter was Josephine R. Welch who was born in 1852 in N.C. and died 1 Oct 1901 in Chelsea, Rogers Co.,Oklahoma. If this still sounds right to you, please feel free to respond back soon! I also found a connection for Rebecca Vannoy on the Vannoy surname list under Joel Vannoy which goes back to Jon Vannoy b: ABT 1644/1655 in France or England. Haven't pinpointed that one down yet. Will let you know if you'd like.

We are talking about the same family. I think that your Aunt and I exchaged info a few years back. There is a web site, Valley River connection, that has a picture of John And Betty Welch's grave stone, I sent it to them. Its a good site.

My Family is from the same area in NC. It seems half the Crisps and Sawyer line married Welch girls. If this ties in with any of your line please let me know. I've got info on Crisps and Sawyers, known on Welch
