Karen,
I just noticed your connection to this CARTER family.

This is what I found
1870 U.S.Fed Census MO, Chariton Co., Twp 53 Range 20
Post off: Brunswick enumerated 23 Jun 1870
Ln31 443/465
ARNOLD, Aron 28 <1842> mw FmLbr IL
ARNOLD, Mary 22 <1848> fw KpgHs OH
Ln33 443/466
MOSS,Nicholas 33<1837>mw FmLbr VA
MOSS,Mary 41<1829> fw KpgHs IL
believe these to all be CARTER children w/exception of the baby girl, Florence.
MOSS(CARTER),James 19<1851>mw IL
MOSS(CARTER),Nancy 17<1853>fw IL
MOSS(CARTER),John 14<1856>mw IL
MOSS(CARTER),Abram 12<1858>mw IL
MOSS(CARTER),Joseph 8<1862>mw IL
MOSS,Florence 1<1869>fw IL
ARNOLD,Eliza 65<1807>fw TN

Do you happen to know whether John CARTER's wife, Mary may have had the maiden name, ARNOLD or is this just an aunt of either Mary or her second husband, Nicholas MOSS?

I, too, am interested in descendants of Abram/Abe/Abraham CARTER. Have you identified his three wives? If I am not mistaken, I think I had thought that Abram's son Joseph Milton CARTER probably was the oldest child of Abram's--Do
you think?

This has been a very trying family to follow but would love any input you may have about the children of Abram CARTER---my grandmother's sister married Abram's son, Robert in Izard Co., AR before they moved to OK. She was the lady who was killed with poison mushrooms supposedly.

Martha CARTER married John DALE 05 Jun 1862 & they had about 11-12 children in Izard Co., AR, I think.

Thanks
