Thanks for your response. How recent are these Okla Codys of yours. My husband's grandfather was Andrew Jackson Cody b 1 Mar 1861 (or62) d 11 Oct 1936 at Hominy, Osage Co. OK. He married Tabitha Angeline Hampton, b 27 Oct 1865 Waldron, AR d 30 Nov 1940 at Hominy.
According to the info I have thus far, A. J.'s father was John Cody Jr. b 1833 (or 34). His mother was Elizabeth Butcher b 1845. No other info on her.
John Jr.'s father was William b 1812, d 28 Jan 1871. His 1st wife, Ginny Young, was John Jr.'s mother. William's 2nd wife was Dorcas Moody Randall, who has several children from a previous marriage.
A. J. had a brother named James, b 1859; sisters: Ida, Sarah L., Lucinda, and Nancy.
This lines seems to have come thru Wright Co., MO.
Are any of these in your line???

Barbara...I have some info on a Thomas Cody, a brother of an ancestor of mine, who moved to Oklahoma and was killed in a gunfight in c. 1910. Know of this one? Can dig out the info again. Herb Wetenkamp

Don't have a Thomas in our line that I know of, but you never can tell. My husband descends from William Cody and Sinai Stacey, we think.
Will keep you in mind, tho, in case anything comes up later.

Surnames: Cody, Martin, Stacey
I have this same information down to your John Jr. I have that John Jr was married to Elizabeth Martin. This is probably wrong. My info came second or third hand. You probably have the right name since your husband is from that line. I am from James Cody, brother of William who married Sinia Stacey. Their father was Pierce Cody of Spotsylvania Co, Va, b cir 1706
