Hi. My mom and I are thinking of coming to Italy to seek out her relatives from Reggio Calabria and Dellanovia. Anyone out there have any insights?

My great-great grandmother was Maria Rosa Gangemi she married Filippo Carbone. Her parent's were Giuseppe Gangemi and Julia Papalia Gangemi. I can't seem to find Delianuova on any maps, how about you?

Hi. My family is from Delianuova. I do not have any Gangemis in my line. I am familiar with the name. I do have Papalia cousins in Canada whom I have met. I also have Papalia in my Romagnino Line. My mother was a Rechichi. Also have Demarte , Battista Leuzzi, Strano etc . Interested in hearing from you.

Larry, I have a Maria Antonia Carbone that married a Giovanni Battista. They had two children, I believe their names were Domenico and Josephine. As far as I know he passed away and she moved to Genoa, Italy. Anything sound familiar? Please let me know if you need more info........

I also have Carbone, Salvo, Colosi, Condello, that all run in my family tree. Pasquale Carbone married Marianna Condello in Delianuova. They had 6 children named Fillipo, Giuseppina, Saverio, Maria Rosa, Maria Antonia, and Domenico. Does any of this sound familiar. If you need more info please let me know.

I don' recognize and of the Carbone names. My Uncle Franciscantonio Romagnino married a Francisca Natalina Carbone whose parents were Bruno C. and Maria Demarte. She was born in Delianuova 26 Dec 1891. I have extracted the Carbone names in both Pedavoli and Paracorio from 1811 to 1864, but have no info except of my aunt, after that date in Italy.

My Uncle Giuseppe Condello married my Aunt Erminia Romagnino in Delianuova 29 Nov 1920. She was born in Delivanuova 8 April 1893 and died in Kane, Pa Sept 1983. I have also extracted the Condello names from both towns.

To the other names I don't have any connections. If I had dates and they are before 1865. I may have them available on the Carbones and Condellos. I have Condellos cousins still living in Kane, St. Marys, Feasterville all in PA and in Depew, NY. Also have 1st Carbone cousin desendents in Florida and PA.

It amazes me just how many similarities we have, yet I can't seem to find a direct line. I'm going to speak to my great grandmother Julia and see if I can pick her brain a little more about the names and locations you gave me. So let me get this straight, we both have Carbone's, Papalia's, and Condello's in our trees, yet we can't seem to find a common first name. We both have family from Delianuova, yet you are able to go further back in years than I can. I am currently unable to go back as far as the early 1800's. I hope to be able to go back that far in the furure. I wish I knew how to obtain vital information from Italy. I have my great grandmothers birth certificate from Italy, I only wish I could get a copy of her parent's also. I am blessed with the fact that my great grandmother is 91 and still alive. I am greatful she is here so I can run to her to verify information that I receive. Which reminds me, I'll give her a call and run the new info you gave me by her and get back to you........
