I am searching for descendants of Joseph Manley and Francis "Franky" Nickens. Joseph's parents may have been William and Elizabeth Manley from SC/NC. Francis' mother may have been Ellenor Nickens.

Children of Joseph and Francies Nickens Manley are David b. 1802 d. circa 1840, William b. 1803 and Levi b. 1804.

David Manley married Sarah "Sally" Collins, probably in TN. They had at least two sons: Washington b. 1832 TN and Jeremiah Porter Manley b. 1837 TN d. 1902 IL.

Levi Manley married Malinda Nickens in TN.

My Manly/Manleys descend from (my ggg grandparents)William and Elizabeth Manley in Laurens Co SC. William died in 1799. I have found no parents or siblings for him or where he was prior to SC. I do not know a last name or anything about Elizabeth.
My gg grandparents were: Vincent Tapp Manley married to Nancy Kelley.
William and Elizabeth's children: Joseph, Washington, Ephraim, Jeremiah, Vincent Tapp and Nancy.
I would love to see if we connect to the same Manley's.

I know the Manley/Nickens/Collins families intermarried. They lived in NC and TN, and some moved to southern IL. Here are the Nickens I have in my tree:

Francis "Franky" Nickens m. Joseph Manley
James Nickens m. Mary Ann Ellen Collins
Leanna Nickens m. William Collins
Malinda Nickens m. Levi Manley
Mary Nickens m. Thomas Barnes
William Nickens m. Francis ?

I think Franky's mother was related to the Scotts.

My gggg grandfather is David Manley. His brother, Levi Manley, married Malinda Nickens on April 1, 1829 in Wilson County, TN. Based on the records I have, Malinda Nickens is the daughter of Francis and William Nickens. So, does this make us cousins-in-law?

Years ago when I first started my family research, there was a Nickens researcher who had created a freepages site. I think her name was Jan, and I think she may have worked at a college in Colorado.
