My cousin recently married a Vandenberg. Although I don't have any history on them yet, they are from the Grand Rapids / Holland Michigan area. I am planning to do some work on this line. I would be happy to share any information you have so far with them to see if they can make a connection and provide more details.

There are many VanDenBerg's in Holland/GrandRapids Michigan area. The Vandenberg family with my connection had a dentist by the name of Gerald in the GrandRapids area. Other common names are Henry, Peter, Gerrit, Jan, William. Give me more info and I'll see if I can make a connection for you.

See my reply of Sept. 2nd to Petry van den Berg's query on the
van den Berg messageboard. It may be helpful to you too.
By the way, I do not think we are related because my family is from
a different part op the country, but who knows....

The William (Wihelm) came to Amerrica on October 7,1856 on the ship Gertrude. His father was Egbert and Heintje(Hendrika) vvab Veenhuizen of Doornspijk,Gelderland Nethelands. He was born in 1847 and married Maria Phona Stolp or Storp. He and Maria had at least 10 children while living in Michigan.
I was told the family moved west probably settling in So Dakota. I do have the names and births of the 10 known children.

Bruce, this is a peripheral line for me, but I am very interested in finding info on Jen (or Genevieve). She married William Ellis Peters (known as Ellis) in/near Battle Creek in 1941. They had one daughter, Martha Jane. Ring any bells?

Derk Vandenberg's daughter Jen, b.c1908

I just responded to Bruce, but will ask you if Derk Vandenberg is familiar. His daughter Jen/Genevieve married William Ellis Peters in 1941. They had one daughter, Martha Jane Peters, born late 40s, I believe. Would love to contact her. Thanks
