I am looking for my 'ROOTS' as it were. I am interested in finding out information on three Childress brothers who came from Great Britian to fight in the Revolutionary War. One of these three would be a direct line of my family. All three brothers decided to stay in America when the war was over. According to my grandfather who is deceased - all three brothers were given land grants by the King of England for their services. These land grants were in Richmond Virginia (Henrico Co). As they could not make a go of it in this area - the three brothers decided to go off in different directions. One of the brothers married a Cheerokee Indian Princess (My direct Line). One brother went north west possible to Montana and the other possibly south. Anyone out there have information on this sketchy background or know how I could trace them to England? Thank you.

Hi Richard, thanks for the information. I have not come across any of those names or dates in my line so far. I'm going to a family reunion this Sunday, August 6. Every year
we each bring what we have found and see what we can piece together. A close relative has been doing genealogy research for quite a while. She supposedely has had some professional help in getting it all together. I have some info - direct line going back to my ggg-grandfather. But before I post anything I want to make sure it is accurate. I have a family tree file that I am working from my grandson backwards so that my heirs have someting to go by I am trying to get it back as far as I can. If I find anything at all about the names you have, I will be sure to e-mail you. Bye for now - Ruth

Hello, my name is Richard Childers and I am trying to find parents for two brothers. Their names are Isaac, born in 1808 and Elijah born in 1815. They were born in Tennessee and later moved to Alabama. Some sources say they came from McmInn County TN. They settled eventually in Marshall County AL. It is believed that Isaac had a Cherokee wife. We cannot find parents for them. Do you have any information which may help me and another online cousin to solve this mystery. Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks a lot, Richard Childers in Alabama
