I have a major brick wall in my family tree and I am hoping an obit on this man could help. He died on April 30, 1942 in Kellogg. The brick wall is about his wife. I am hoping it will tell me if they had children. ANY help would be wonderful....this has been a 3 years battle for information! Thank you very much! Sandy

Henry was a 1st cousin of my grandmother. I don't have an obituary, but I do have a newspaper clipping (from a newspaper in Elizabeth City, North Carolina) telling about his death. (He was murdered by a man who wanted exemption from the draft, and Davenport wouldn't do it.)

The newspaper article made no mention of Henry's wife, but did mention that his brother in Elizabeth City, NC had immediately set out for Idaho upon receiving a telegram stating his brother had been shot. (Henry died before his brother reached Idaho.)

The 1940 census lists Henry and Jessie (his 2nd mg, her 1st) and no children. I am under the impression that Henry had no children; at least no one in the family ever has mentioned any.

Wow...thank you! I never thought we would hear anymore about this, could you please send me a scan of the article?

Jessie was a mystery...this is a piece of the puzzle for sure!
