I have a Edward Bartlet Choate from Maine in my family...my great grandfather...Have you run across this name in your records? Believed to have lived in Thorndike, Maine. This would be late 1800's...early 1900's. If you caould help that would be great.
Thanks and Goodluck on your search.

I do not believe any of my line spent time in Maine back in the Colonial Period. It is possible the Maine Choates are out of the 'Northern Choate Line.' My line landed in Maryland in about 1670-ish and proceeded South and East with the few excersions over into IL in the very early 1800's. Some even made it to the West Coast prior to the Civil War.
