My mother was placed in the home run by the Nazareth sisters it was also known as St. Josephs Baby Home. She was actually born in Canada and placed by her mother in the baby home when she was 1 year and 2 months old. Her mothers name was Sarah Angeline Mullen so if anybody knows of her please get in touch

my mother aged 10 was in a Church of Ireland orphanage perhaps in Holywood County Antrim, perhaps in Belfast, around 1900. She always said it was good and the girls seem to have been well taught in what she called domestic science. She got a position as nursery governess at age 18 with a good caring employer. The two younger brothers were sent to New Zealand and Australia.
