Who has a good map of 1880 Ukraine? Jundyk

I am looking for a detailed map of Ukraine. Ancestors immigrated from Groudek in Podolia (probably Horodok now). However I think they came from a town called Jundyk, which I cannot find. I guess this could be a county.

I have doubts that this is a correct spelling. On what sort of a document is this "Jundyk"?

It's on a Detroit border crossing as birthplace of Maryanna Baranowski-Kokowski while she was on vacation. However she does say Jundyk, Russia. But this would be in Russia in 1926. I wonder if Jundyk is the county Groudek is in?

The spelling Groudek comes from an 1880ish map. She immigrated from here originally and was an adult at the time. So I think she should know her birthplace as she sited something different.

What other US documents do you have on this ancestor?
I doubt very much that it was your ancestor who wrote Jundyk on a document. I suspect it was a clerk.
The English Y is a J sound so is J a what sound in Jundyk?

It's the only document with Jundyk. Other documents use a variety of Groudek spellings.

Sorry, yes, the immigration is listed as Grodek, Podolsk. It's the Jundyk which is the problem. maybe a parish, maybe a town, maybe a county. I just don't know enough about the Ukraine.

We need to find another document. I found nothing when www.google.com and no one came thru NY www.ellisislandrecords.org from Jundyk. It most likely is a village but not with this spelling.

Did she marry in US? The church marriage record and state marriage application would have her place of birth.
Did she have social security numbers?
