Surnames: ROUNDS/ROUND, WORK , PICKERING, RYDER
Looking for information on the my mothers family.
Charles ROUNDS m. Fanny PICKERING
son Charles ROUNDS m. Esther RYDER
son Joseph ROUNDS m. Fanny WORK
When and how did the ROUNDS family come to Fiji? Have lots of information from approx 1850's to the present day, but few dates.
Have little information on the WORK family. Fanny's mother was Amy, surname could be Wiltshire. Her father we think was named Wallace, died early 1920's. Where do I start?
Other names are: Hicks, Danford, Morrell, Dudley, Wedlock, Ram, Underwood.

Hi Lynette

I noticed that you had been researching the billing family in Sweden. I live in Fiji and my mum's name is Britta Billings. Her father was Henry Billings and her fathers brothers and sisters included Gus, George, Gerda, Hilda, Alma, Sylvia and Robert.

regards

Carol

Hi there,
Would it be safe to assume that your aunt is Betty Hurley? I have an uncle Frank who maybe one of the 13 children you mentioned. Confirm please.

Lynette.

Is it possible that Fanny/Frances Pickering who was born in 1842 was the child of Charles Pickering, who was born in Sydney in 1814 and Burekaria Tabuakovei who were married in 1838 in Rewa, Fiji. I am a descendant of Charles Pickering's sister Mary Ann and have only recently been made aware that Charles went to Fiji. I had been wondering where he got to. How many Pickering males could there have been in fiji in 1842?
I would be interested in anything you might have on Charles and his descendants. Judging by the Fiji white pages there are quite a few!

The Pioneers of Fiji published 1907 contains references to a H Pickering and a Mrs H Pickering. It also has a photo of T Pickering. If these are of any interest please contact me and will copy out the references.

Hi Carol,
I live in New Zealand and my mother was a Rounds. Is your uncle named Bruce? I have a very broad family tree, mostly information from my mother and her sisters. Not many confirmed dates in the 1800's and have not been able to trace back from Fiji to where they originally came from, trying USA and Australia.
