I do have more information.

My grandfather was James Martin Dace. He was married to A. Genevieve Hill. James Martin Dace was the son of Michael Edward Dace II and Sarah Ann Blanton. Michael Edward's father's name was also Michael Edward Dace. He was married to Elizabeth Whitworth. Every year in Washington County we have a Dace-Whitworth Reunion. If you believe you are a distant relative please contact me for more information concerning the family tree.

My mother was Florence Dace and her cousin Mary Hamby was raised by her parents for a time. Mary married Lester Dill of the Meramac Caverns . We called her Aunt Mary even though she was not really our aunt but a cousin. I knew her well and even spent some time at her house outside of Stanton, Missouri. She was born in 1900 but I don't remember her actual birthday. Her grandson Lester Truilli runs Meramec Caverns as Aunt Mary has been gone for some time. If you care to contact me please email at camura1991@yahoo.com as the above email is the library where I work.

I saw your post on the Dace-Hamby side and my mother was a Dace. I have done some research on the Dace side and this is what I have found so far.
I have the obituary of Mary Ellen Hamby (Dace), also referred to "Speck M.". Willard Nathan Dace, her uncle, took her into his home and raised her. She had a brother, Michael, three sisters; Ida Winkler, Jessie Bull, Tracy Hilgendorf. Two 1/2 brothers; Elmer and Jim and one 1/2 sister Katherine. Thanks for posting. Would love to know what else you have on the Dace side.

My side of the family went thru James Garland, brother to Mary, Florence and Willard Nathan. I would be interested in any info that you may have on other relatives. I believe we are 2nd cousins 1x removed.

James Martin Dace is my first cousin 2x removed. I have a lot of info on our tree, but looking to see that my info is the same as other relatives. The farthest I have been able to get is Herman Dace, 3rd great grandfather, in 1795.
