The Jackson Parish Public Library should have copies of old newpapers that would have a report of the accident. You should call them. Also The LA State Archives has death certificates for deaths occuring 50 or more years ago. I typed in Jackson and the date you have listed and only got back one result. It's for a Laura Jordon, so it's probably your grandmother. You can order a copy of her death certificate for $5.00. If you follow this link, find her and then click order you can print out the pre-filled order form. Good luck. Sandy

You're welcome. I came across your post when I did a search on James Marles Howard. I'm trying to find info on his 1/2 sister Georgia Ella Howard. Do you know what happened to her? Did she marry? To Whom? When did she die? Anything? Thanks. Sandy
