Surnames: FAUVER, VOLIN
I am attempting to find the ancestors of this man, who was born in about 1841 in Ohio (according to the 1850 Census in Illinois), married twice (the second time to Ellen Volin) and lived in Illinois (Perry County), Nebraska (Boyd and Knox Counties) and finally in Hot Springs, Fall River County, South Dakota where he died in 1927 (his wife predeceased him in 1925) and is buried in the State Soldier's Home Cemetery. His father was William Fauver (born New Jersey) and mother Hepys? according to the 1850 Perry County, Illinois Census. Anyone recognize this family or the parents? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a William F. Fauver (son of George Fauver and Elizabeth Penton) b. 23 May 1791 in Pittsgrove, Salem, NJ. Married 1st Margaret Sarah "Eliza" Taylor. They had 8 children. Married 2nd on 16 Oct 1833 in Eaton Twp Hepsibah Thompson Reddington (her 3rd marriage). I show they had four children, all born in Eaton Twp, Lorain Co., OH:
Samuel Fauver b. abt 1834
Alice Fauver b. abt 1837
Andrew Jackson "Jack" Fauver b. abt 1839
Marquis De Lafayette "Fayette" Fauver b. abt 1841

Fayette Fauver married Harriet Palmer and had at least two children. (They later divorced and she remarried twice to Mr. Knight and Mr. Rawls.) Thier children were:
Lillie Grace Fauver, married Lewis Chapman Roberts (one daughter Ellen Roberts, married Foster)
Arthur Fauver

Hope this helps,
Rob

from a Fauver family history at LDS Library, Salt Lake City UT

"George Fauver...enlisted Apr 1776 in Captain DuBois' Co and Col. Cornelius Newkirk's regiment. In summer of 1777 served a tour of 2 mo. under same officers. September 1777 he served 6 mos. wagon service under Capt. Robert Patterson and Col. Hugg with his brother Henry Fauver. In the spring of 1778 enlisted as a private in Capt. Peck's Co...."
Several pages of the children of George Fauver, then of William Fauver and his children with his first wife. Then on p. 59- " William Fauver married 2nd Hepsibah Redington married by JP Ira B. Morgan Oct 16 1833 Vol. 1 p. 83 Lorain Co."

I'm a descendant of William's oldest son, Nehemiah, with his first wife. I think William ends up in Yankton SD too but I can't find my proof for that. This is just stuff I have run across looking for Fauver info. Hope this rounds him out a bit! I have MDL's sibs and 1/2 sibs too if you are interested.
