To anyone interested in this family: I have done extensive research on my Longbottom branch of my family tree. Elijah Longbottom (b. about 1801) is the farthest back I have been able to document. One of his sons, Benjamin F. Longbottom, was my great grandfather. I have complete information about this family and almost all of the children.
I have just recently submitted my research to Ancestry.Com and also Family Search. I have a Home Page published on Family Tree. Take a look. You might find someone you have been looking for. You might also find some mistakes. If you do, please let me know so I can correct it. The main reason I have submitted my research is to possibly find unknown "cousins." I look forward to hearing from some of you out there. As all of you know, there will always be "brick walls" that we will hit. I have several of them! Maybe with your help, I can break through a few of them.
Thanks.

Lynn, You've found another relative. Elijah Longbottom m. Hannah Jarvis on 10/23/1823 and he was my 2nd great-granduncle. I have no children listed for them. Elijah's father was Joseph born before 1760 in NC. His wife is unknown. His children were Joseph, II, Elizabeth Ann, Nancy, William, Lucky, Elijah and James. Joseph II married Rebecca Wiseman, daughter of John Wiseman and Elizabeth Seibert. Joseph II and Rebecca had 3 unnamed children and Elizabeth Ann, Appolonia who married Valentine Shireman. Appolonia and Valentine being my great grandparents. Other children, too. Appolonia and Valentine had Henry Hardin Shireman who married Addie Huffman and they were my grandparents. Their daughter, Bessie Lona Shireman married Landon Clifford Minor and I am their daughter, Donna Faye Minor Tesch. I was unable to find your Longbottom page on Ancestry.Com or FamilySearch. Please let me know how to find it. I would very much like to compare notes.

I just received information last night linking my Macemore family with the Longbottom family in Yadkin county,NC. Lucky Longbottom's daughter, Elizabeth b. abt. 1826 in Surry, NC, married Joseph D. Mesmore/Macemore on 28 Aug. 1852 in Yadkin county, NC. I haven't found any children for Joseph and Elizabeth. Joseph D. Macemore was born 1828 in Surry/Yadkin county, a son of Daniel Macemore and Elizabeth.

There appears to be two Elizabeth Longbottom in Surry County in 1850.
One was the daughter of Lucky. I show that she moved to Lawrence County, Arkansas and married first Washington Devore on May 6, 1863 and secondly James L. Allison on August 16, 1866. Apparently Washington died during the Civil War. This Elizabeth moved to Llano County, Texas where she lived until her death in 1911.
The second was listed in the household of Benjamin Naylor in the 1850 census. I show that she is the Elizabeth that married Joseph Messmore/Macemore. I also show that she is probably the daughter of William Longbottom and Mary Mize. Apparently William died prior to 1850 and the older children were hired out to support the family.
Hopes this helps and I am certainly willing to discuss my findings with anyone interested.
