In Old Gravestones of Putnam County, NY by Barbara Smith Buys there are these listings at the North Highlands Burying Ground on page 9 Vought, Elijah C. b July 12, 1813, d Aug 10, 1903 Vought, Mary Haight, w. Elijah C., b Nov 2, 1816, d Mar 28 1881 Vought, Phebe E. Hustis, w. Theodore, b Jan 9, 1851, d May 16, 1925 Vought, Theodore, b Jan 29, 1845, d Nov 16, 1914
These are the only Voughts found in the entire book with no other spelling variations listed.
This cemetery is on the East side of Route 9 one mile south of Dutchess County line and is the same cemetery where a great many of my ancestry are buried; including the names of HAWKS, IRELAND, BARTON, MOSHER, STEVENS, WALLACE, WARREN, WOOD.

Jean, Thank you for taking your time to do a look-up for me. That was really sweet of you. Your name sounds so familiar, I believe my mother,Helen Vought was in touch with you many years ago. As you can see. the search goes on. I was unsure as to whether the cemetery was in Dutchess or Putnam.I plan to go visit the cemetery someday. Regina

I just came across this query & when I saw the name Vought it rang a bell with me. I went to high svhool in Mahopac NY with a Hannah Vought. Is this the same family?

Jean I see you have a Wood line. Can you give me any information on that? I am researching the John Wood line in Cornwall NY and I know some of his siblings were in Putnam Co.
