Dave,

If it helps, I have info on David Baldwin and Sarah Owens. David was the son of Warren Baldwin and Elizabeth Smith. Their children were:
William Augustus Baldwin
Anne Baldwin
Ephraim Baldwin
Owen Baldwin
Sarah Baldwin
David Baldwin

I have in my notes that this family moved to Georgia in 1763. I have more info on the Baldwin family, but not much on the Owen(s). -- Walter

Seeking information concerning Ephraim Owen, b. 1737/38, son of Ephraim Owen. Married a Mary Cooper, d. of Benjamin and Elizabeth Cooper. Arrived in Wrightsboro,Ga., circa 1770 with a David Baldwin who was married to a Sarah Ann Owen. The Baldwins, and possibly the Owens and Coopers had ties to Bladen annd Cumberland Counties. Does this strike a note with anyone?

Ephriam Owen (also Ephraim Owen) received 130 acres of land by Land Warrant #129 August 12,1735. The land was in Bladen County (then the Bladen Precinct of Bath county) on the SW side of the NW River (based on later deeds, this was the Cape Fear River). Ephriam received a further 150 acres August 28, 1735 by Land Warrant #151.
During the same period (1739-1749-1752), a John Owen received similar warrants in the same area, at least some of which bordered on Ephriam's land.
Does anyone know how these two men were related, or where they came from? Does anyone know how they were related to other Owens in the area, such as the John Owen who was later Governor?
By late 1760's Ephriam, or his son by the same name, seem to be shown as living in Cumberland County. Was this because that area had been split off, or would they have had to move?

The David Baldwin that married Sarah Ann Owen and the Ephraim Owen that married Mary Cooper both moved to Wrightsboro, Columbia County, Georgia in the late 1760's, probably from Bladen County, North Carolina.

I'm afraid I can't help you locate where Land Warrant # 504 might be. When I get a chance I will check my records to see if the name Adair occurs in any land description, but otherwise I don't know what to suggest.
