He married a set of sisters. first to Pauline [ or Polly ] unknown last name, whom was born in Norway. Don't have anything else on her other than she died in Norway Michigan USA before 1901. Her sister, Hilda was Charles's second wife. Hilda C. [ or P., Unknown last name ] was born in 9 Nov 1880 in Norway and emmigrated in 1891 to settle in Norway Michigan. She died 11 Feb 1963 in Gasstra Michigan. Any help at all on him and either of his wives, would be appreciated, and thank you for your time.

Translation helps for Norwegian -
http://home.online.no/~otjoerge/files/word.htm
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~norway/na17.html

There are also specific helps for specific types of Norwegian documents - church records, censuses, etc. But you don't seem to be encountering those yet.

The marriage records could be expected to give you information about the parents of the bride and the groom.

You didn't give info about WHEN Charles married either of these sisters but here are some possibles quickly found in the free online databases of Familysearch.org

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N38B-YJH
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FCPD-3VG

Familysearch shows several children born to Charles and Pauline? You should check. Those shown would put their marriage quite a few years earlier.

Perhaps.. the earlier marriage?
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NQW3-KNX

Collecting those records and scouring them for vital details will also give you the COUNTY names where they lived - those are important. Censuses, birth records, death records, etc. are usually archived by the name of the county.

Following all the bits of information in those records I gave you links to above -- it then is easy to find Hilda with her parents and siblings still living at home in the 1900 US census --
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MSM9-JDP

You can view the actual image of the census page and zoom in to collect ALL the details.

NOTE: You always start with collecting ALL of the information in US that you can before you can 'cross the pond' to research in Europe.

You list the wrong age for Charles. You say he was born in 1886 and immigrated in 1880.

He married Pauline Petersen on 24 Aug 1889 in Menominee county, Michigan.

He married Hilda Petersen on 20 Dec 1902 in Dickinson county, Michigan.

The marriage record for the marriage to Paulin says Charles E. Peterson is the son of John Peterson and C. Erickson.

The marriage record for the marriage to Hilda says Charles E. Peterson is the son of John C. Peterson and Caroline Erickson.

After gathering all of the US data -- and then turning to Familysearch.org again to look for possible indexed Norwegian birth records...

Sisters Pauline Kornelia Pedersdatter and Hilda Petrine Pedersdatter were born in Tune clerical district of Østfold, Norway. Their parents were Peder Pedersen and Hanna Kristiansdatter.

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na20.html

Hilda with her mother and several siblings are recorded leaving from Oslo Norway in 1891 --

Note how well ALL of those details match the US records earlier studied. Only the names and the spellings are really are already beginning to be "Americanized".
