Please visit my web site at http://www.GuruleFamily.Org

This web site is dedicated to anybody researching the Gurule surname, and I will help anyone -- all for free, this is my hobby. The web site has 13 generations of descendants from Jacques Grolet (Santiago Gurule) and Elena Gallegos, plus more such as listings of marriage records, census records, etc. If you can't find what you're looking for on the web site, it doesn't mean I don't have it. I still have hundreds more to post, so please don't hesitate to contact me. It's better is you write to me direct at Angela@USRoots.com because I don't check back here that often.

Thanks,
Angela

Rebecca Gurule was baptized 27 Aug 1884 at San Augustine Church in Isleta, New Mexico (found on film #16782). The record identifies Rebecca's parents as Jose Candelario Gurule and Juana Andrea Apodaca. These parents were married on 17 Jul 1868 at San Felipe de Neri Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The marriage record identified her parents as Juan Apodaca and Juana Maria Dealparito, and only identified his mother as Antonia Gurule. This family appears in the below census:

1880 – NM, Bernalillo County, Albuquerque
Jose Gurule (1830, age 50), Juana A. (1841, age 39), Manuela (1866, age 14), Manuel A. (1868, age 12), Petronila (1870, age 10), Toribio (1874, age 6), Feliciana (1877, age 3)

1900 - NM, Valencia County, Los Lentes
Jose Gurule (Apr 1830, age 70), Juana Andrea (May 1842, age 58), Leonides (Aug 1876, age 23), Santos (Oct 1878, age 21), Nicomedes (May 1884, age 16), Rebecca (Aug 1886, age 13)

Be aware that census records are not always accurate on dates, as you never know who answered the door and provided the information when the census taker was asking the questions, but this is all the right family.

I haven't been able to get back further on this particular Gurule line.

I am looking for the siblings of Tranquillino Gurule. He was the oldest of the children to Juan Cristosimo Gurule. Juan Cristosimo had a child from Francesquita Cisneros an Indian woman then living in La Canada De Los Alamos, a village northeast of Santa Fe NM. Juan C. later remarried and I beleive had six additional children of whom Estevan was the youngest who lived out his life in Tres Pietras NM, he was married to Manuelita they had ten children. and I beleive he died on 4 Nov. 1983. Also...I would like to trace the heritage of my grandfathers' mother Francesquita Cisneros. What iIndian Tribe was she from? and whatever information on her family.

This "Tranquilino Gurule" has always been a mystery. From what you write, he had a brother named Estevan and his father's name was Juan Crisostomo. Look at the below census:

1900 – NM, Santa Fe County, Canoncito
Juan Crisostomo Gurule (Jan 1859), Virgina (Dec 1871), Daniel (Jan 1889), Delfinia (Jun 1890), Paulita (Jan 1892), Toribio (Mar 1893), Estevan (Dec 1894), Jose Encarnacion (Mar 1897) = married 13 years

This is the only Juan Crisostomo in the Santa Fe area, and all the children are baptized around there, including Pecos.

I'm thinking this is really the right family, and maybe Manuela is a later wife? That would explain why Tranquilino doesn't appear in the 1900 census and I don't have the 1910 census extracted....he appears in the 1920 census.

Visit http://www.GuruleFamily.Org and look under ANCESTRY....then COUSINS PAGES...and you'll see links to the Gurule newsletter. Open up the first one. There is a story by Andrew Gurule and he descends from this family. Maybe it might provide some tips for you.

Hi Angela, My brother Andrew and I started researching the Jaramillo/Diaz line. You gave me lots of info. on a Rebecca (Gurule)Jaramillo. She would be the mother of my bio-mother Lily Diaz. How would i go about finding any kind of info on Rebecca's other children, mainly her son's. As far as i can tell from the info you sent to me, Rebecca and her husband Jose' had 4 son's and 5 daughter's. We do realize that those children are all deceased. Any kind of guideance would greatly be appreciated. Maybe we could be on our way to finding any living decendance of that family. Thank You!

Rebecca Gurule was baptized 27 Aug 1884 at San Agustin Catholic Church at Isleta Pueblo. This record came from microfilm #16782 which covers the years 1844-1956. My suggestion to you is to visit one of the Family History Centers and review this microfilm and locate family members that way. Then, film #16783 contains the marraiges for the same period.

Please write to me direct at Angela@USRoots.com and I will give you the rest of her siblings.
