This "Tranquilino Gurule" has always been a mystery. From what you write, he had a brother named Estevan and his father's name was Juan Crisostomo. Look at the below census:
1900 – NM, Santa Fe County, Canoncito
Juan Crisostomo Gurule (Jan 1859), Virgina (Dec 1871), Daniel (Jan 1889), Delfinia (Jun 1890), Paulita (Jan 1892), Toribio (Mar 1893), Estevan (Dec 1894), Jose Encarnacion (Mar 1897) = married 13 years
This is the only Juan Crisostomo in the Santa Fe area, and all the children are baptized around there, including Pecos.
I'm thinking this is really the right family, and maybe Manuela is a later wife? That would explain why Tranquilino doesn't appear in the 1900 census and I don't have the 1910 census extracted....he appears in the 1920 census.
and look under ANCESTRY....then COUSINS PAGES...and you'll see links to the Gurule newsletter. Open up the first one. There is a story by Andrew Gurule and he descends from this family. Maybe it might provide some tips for you.
