Albert Frederic Maus, b Dec 1856 Cole Co. MO, married 25 Dec 1889 in Schell City, Vernon Co. MO to Ida Sarah Kirkland. Ida Kirkland, born Apr 1866, was daughter of Clark Kirkland and Sarah Plummer. This Maus family moved to Big Horn Co. Montana.

We're trying to see if Albert Frederic Maus you posted is possibly a family member of my father, Archie Eugene Maus. His middle name was later changed to Jack. He was born February 19, 1915 in Schell City, MO. His father's name was Edward Daniel Maus, born Aug. 21, 1888 Schell City, MO. But Edward Maus' birthplace is listed as Buffalo, Kansa my father's birth certificate. We'd like to know the sons/daughters of Albert Maus, along with his brothers/sisters -- including, if possible the birth/death dates. Also, any information on Albert's parents.

I don't know if there is a connection here, but if there is, then maybe you can fill in some gaps for me too. My great-grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Maus was born in Bates City, Missouri on August 28, 1883. Her father was Daniel Edger Maus (married Martha Ann Wells)but was born in Spearville, Tuscararwas Co., Ohio on October 14, 1855. He moved to Missouri sometime between 1855 and 1883 to have my great grandmother (Nancy Elizabeth) there in 1883. Daniel Edgar's father was John Killian Maus and his mother was Elizabeth Stires. I don't have any information on them. Nancy Elizabeth had a daughter, Martha (my grandmother) in Metz, Vernon Co., Missouri on June 21, 1909. I don't know if there is a connection, but whould like to confirm and get more info if possible. Thanks..

Sorry for the delay. I have not personally researched Maus. A grand daughter of Ida Sarah Kirkland that married Albert F. Maus, has worked on the Maus. What I have is Albert Frederick Maus was a son of Christopher Maus and Margaret Raithel. Both were born in Germany, Christopher 1826 and Margaret 1834. They married in 1854 (where I do not know). Christopher died 1908 in Schell City, Vernon Co. MO and Margaret died 1918 Schell City, Vernon Co. MO. I also have an Albert Frederic(k) Maus in my family tree. He was my grand father and was living in Schell City Missouri when my father (Albert Criss) was born 29 FEB 1896. My father had several siblings that I can share names and dates with you if you like (his youngest brother's first name was Eugene). I have little info on Albert Frederick's parents but can pass that along also. Albert F. married Ida Kirkland. I know at least part of the family moved to Hardin Montana in the early 1900s.

Albert Frederick Maus born Dec 1856 died July 4 1939 in Schell City, MO. Married Ida Kirkland.
Their Children were:
Lillian Dale Maus b: Feb 9, 1892
Jewell Dean Maus (My Grandmother) b: Oct 22, 1893
Jessie Maus b: Oct 22, 1893
Albert Chris Maus b: Feb 29, 1896
Dean (DJ) Maus b: after 1896
Maude Maus b: about 1900
Eugene Maus b: after 1900
All probably born in Schell City, MO. Albert Frederick had at least one brother Johnnie (possibly Johann). I have a post card picture of D J Maus (Dean) and a Guss (Maus)? taken about May 7, 1923. They were cousins. The post card was postmarked Augusta,KS. He also had at least one sister Mrs. John Van Tellman.
Lillian Dale Maus married Robert Daniel Maus (Second cousins, I think). Daniel and Eugene names have been used in the Maus Family so there may be a connection. Hope this helps.
