Benjamin Mose Wesley of Alabama was my great great, great, great-grandfather. If he is the one you are referring to, he was born on January 22, 1822, in Georgia, and moved to Alabama prior to October, 1847. He married 1st) Mary Lee on October 14, 1847, in Pike County, Alabama. They had 9 children (Effie Ann E. WESLEY Morgan, Georgia Ann WESLEY [Sissie], William Jackson WESLEY, James Tucker WESLEY, Moses Franklin WESLEY, Henry Edward WESLEY, Thomas Cicero WESLEY, Marion Leach WESLEY, and Sena Janie WESLEY [Senie] Pate. His first wife died on March 11, 1870, and Mose married 2nd) Allie Queen JOHNSON on November 17, 1870. Mose died January 27, 1891, and was buried in Union Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Pike County, Alabama. Let me know if you would like any further information.

I am just starting with the Wesley side of our family tree. I couldn't find that many Wesley's in the Alabama census. My great-great grandfather was a Frank Wesley. They lived in Chancellor, Al. Some of them are still living in the area. Is this the Moses Franklin Wesley listed in the message of June 21, 2000. My grandmother told me that he married an Anderson. That is all the info I have. I have not checked the Archives, but live in Atlanta and will check the census soon. I only have the index for 1850 Pike County that list a Wesley. My Grandfather was Elbert Thurston Wesley that married Leila Belle May. They lived in Coffee springs, AL. Any help getting me on the right road would be appreciated.

Wendy,
I noticed while reviewing the messages on the Wesley Message Board that you referred to a "Benjamin Mose Wesley." In Jenny Spearman's message dated 6/15/00, she made note of a "Mose Ware." I thought they might be related, since "Mose" is certainly an uncommon name. Check with Jenny Spearman when you get the opportunity.

Carrie: Many thanks for your posting!! I am a descendant of Wiley E. Anderson and his wife Frances Galloway Anderson. Wiley, Frances, and their son L.W. are buried in the old Consolation Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery just outside Enterprise, Alabama.
I have wondered who was in the "Wesley" graves right next to the Anderson graves....now I know!
Mary, the wife of M. Frank, was a daughter of Wiley E. Anderson and Frances Galloway Anderson. For those wishing to visit that cemetery (the church is long gone) : From the intersection of Highway 27 South and the trucker by-pass of Enterprise (Boll Weevil Circle) to 5.3 miles south to Coffee County Road No 725. (a paved road going off highway 27 to the left) Turn left on road 725. The old Consolation cemetery is 6/10 of a mile down the road on the left side. A small, well maintained cemetery of about 25-30 graves.
