I was born February 1, 1969. I have my birth mother's name, Glenda, and my deceased uncle's name, Ronald. I have paid searchers. I desperately want to find all of you. I have had a wonderful life, but finding you would help things be more complete.

Dear Susan, what city and state were you born? could you have any brother's or sister's born before you who would have been adoped with his birthmother's last name being Garner.

Susan, this is probably a shot in the dark since your message is so old... However... My father is Rick Garner, whose dad was James...one of the brothers of Glenda and Ronnie Garner. Whose parents were James and Martha Garner.

I really hope you get this. I called my dad and he said he had heard things but never knew for sure. Ronnie died in Vietnam. He was a war hero awarded the bronze star and congressional medal of honor before your birth date. My dad is very close to his Aunt Glenda and would answer any questions you'd have. She never had any other children.

With all due respect, I checked a number of websites on the Medal of Honor and found no GARNER listed as a recipient of the award. If you have his Medal or know who does or a copy of the Citation I suggest that someone make an effort to correct this over site.

I mean no disrespect, but I have the greatest respect for this award and for genealogy and do not wish to see incorrect information being made public.

There is also no Ronnie/Ronald Garner listed on the Vietnam Wall so the military must have him by another name. Finding records would be easier if we knew that name. Perhaps he was a civilian working in Vietnam?

Unfortunately, I would have no idea. My grandfather was the other brother of Glenda and Ronnie. My grandfather "Jimmy" aka James Garner died. As did his parents Martha and James Archer Garner. They passed before I was very old. I never met Martha and only have a vague memory of my great grandfather. All I know of Ronnie and Glenda is from my dad who grew up close to both of them. It's the story I've always heard and as far as I know what my father knows to be true.

Once again, with all due respect, I'm confident that whatever medals he did receive he did not receive the Medal of Honor.

This page shows what medals he did receive:

http://www.virtualwall.org/dg/GarnerRL01a.htm

You may be able to get his military record so take a look at this page.

http://www.homeofheroes.com/valor/replacement_medals.html

or:

http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/public/a...

With the additional information provided and a better search on my part I did find him on the WALL.

Best of luck to you.
