Does anyone know what the deportation code "CC" stands for? I've found that my great-grandfather was detained at Ellis Island in 1913 under the code "CC" for two weeks and eventually deported and I can't find any record of what this means...

Absolutely, thanks so much... does adding a link like this work?

Sorry I haven't figured out the "right" way to do that yet...

My great-grandfather's name was Victor Garay, line 4. "CC" appears in the column "Cause of Detention".

I kind of like imagining that it stands for "Convicted Criminal" and that he lived a life of crime... :)
