This George Hunter is on the 1910 census in Essex County. He and Mabel had been married two years, and there is no indication of any children. By the 1920 census, they have a son Stanley, age 6, born in New Jersey.

The 1930 census which has Stanley and Ruth, puts Stanley's birth about 1907 in England, to English parents.

On the ship Franconia, arriving July 3, 1923 in NY from England, there was a 16 year old Stanley Hunter, and brother George Douglas Hunter, age 17, sons of Annie Hunter. Annie lived in Windy Nook, England, which was the last residence of Stanley and George.

Windy Nook, is located Gateshead District,Durham, Tyne & Wear County, England
The Free birth Index indicates a Stanley Hunter was born in the Apr-June quarter of 1907 in Gateshead. Recorded Vol 10a, page 1018

This may not be such a good alternative, as the 1930 census shows Stanley to have arrived in 1908.

However, there are not any matching immigration records showing a Stanley Hunter arriving in the 1908 time period.

Thank you very much! There are two Stanley Hunters...the son of Mabel and George (and I got that census info) married to Ruth Bittner, and the subsequent generation, who was my father in law. I will look into the other information you sent. I found that sometimes the arrival date on the US Census varied from census to census.

I appreciate your help!

Warmly,
Stacey
