I am searching for mental institutions in Dighton in the second half of the 20th century. Someone I am researching was supposedly mentally disabled and was sent away as a child. Her SSDI lists her place of death as Dighton, MA. Her cousins do not recall seeing her after the age of four or so. She was born in 1939. Anyone have any ideas as where she might have been sent?

There was a state mental hospital at Taunton, MA which is next town to Dighton.
