Gaona Name

Surnames: Gaona, Alfaro
My husband's family know nothing about their parents and extended family. The little bit they do know is: Their father's name was Vicente Alejandro Gaona, dob 4/15/1891. He was married twice, they think, before marrying their mother, Gloria Alfaro. Gloria was at least 20 years younger than their father. Vicente and Gloria lived in Pharr, Texas before his death sometime around 1956-1960. At the time they lived in Texas they had eight children, one died in infancy: Ruben, Placida, Julia, Rosa, Vicente, Jr., Merced, and Antonio. After Vicente's death, Gloria moved she and her children to Idaho. They do not know where their father was born, perhaps Spain or Mexico. Gloria was born in Mexico, but nothing else is known about either of them. If someone knows anything about Vicente and Gloria, we would really appreciate hearing from you. Gaona is an unusual name in Idaho and we have not met anyone else by that name. Thank you, Sandra Gaona.

After Vincente death, Gloria had 4 other children, Amparo, Lupe, Julia and Socorro with a last name of Pruneda. Our Mother was a brave woman and anything, anyone could tell us about her would be great. Gloria Alfaro

My family's last name is Gaona through my mothers side of the family. We know very little regarding our Great-grandfather, except that he or his father came from Spain. With the owner of the hacienda in Javier Mina Durango. My grandfathers name was Adrian Gaona, we have but one photo of him and he is wearing traditonal Gachupin clothing which was of a wealthy man at the time. If you don't mind me asking, what part of Durango were your relatives in at that time? My mother was born there at around that time, and there was a lot of Gaona relatives at that time. I believe as far south to Mexico City.
