I am not so much looking into my geneology, but I would like to know what Sabourin means. Anyone who knows what it means, replying to this is appreciated.

If anyone knows the pre-geneology to one Severen [or 'in']Sabourin, I would like to know about him and past as well, hes my great grandpa.

Okay, here goes.

The first recorded use of the name "Sabourin" was in Roman times. The person honoured with the name was a general of the Pratorian Guard who were the protectors of the Emperor Augustus Ceasor. (at least thats what the papers given to me from a gene. site said).

The name basically means "one who savours life". The name was given as a royal grant to the general from Ceasor himself.

The family crest has a silver man on an Auzur shield background holding a blue rose.

Thankyou so much. That is exactly what I was looking for. I finally know what my whole name means:

Princess of the early morning who is like god that savours life.

If you have any other information or knowledge of how my family name has decended, it would be appreciated.

Once again, thankyou.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you the farthest back family member I have. Severin Sabourin was a doctor and mayor of a small town in Alberta Canada called Bonnyville. His wifes name was Margerite LaRiviere, or something close. They had a total of about 14 children. Roger and his wife Rita, the only surviving son, Antoine Rodolphe, my grandad that died in 1993. Two brothers have died, one for sure in WWII. They were young in their 20's or so. Beth, the oldest daughter, never married and took care of her mother until she died, and then Beth died from complications with diabeties. I have an aunt we call Aunty Laurette, goes by Lili, and her husband Manuel Fernandez, that lives in Oxnard, California. Uncle Severin and his wife Carolyn. He has passed away. Cecile and her husband Ray Fortier, surviving. Claire and Bert Knowler, surviving. Yvonne Findlay, Lucienne Watson, Helene and Michel Saraga, surviving. The deceast brothers are Paul, Maurice, Raymond and Severin and Carolyn.

If you can tell me anything farther back, It would be appreciated, but you dont have to search for me if you dont want to. That was alot of informantion i just gave you. Thank you agian. By the way, are you my uncle? My mom just question that.
