I am looking on information on the Starks family. I have traced back as far back as my great grandfather George Starks born Jan. 28 1896 in Clayton, New Mexico. He was orphaned and raised by his aunt and uncle Daniel Lawrence in West Plains, MO. George Starks married Sudie Wells, from Center Point Ark. Moved to Roxton, Texas at some point. They had 3 boys; George, Lloyd, James Eugene.

Sandra, I have Starks ancestors from Missouri who moved to Texas. Do you have any more info about the family or the individuals you listed? I'll share what I have, but I don't find your individuals in my file. However, my file is not complete by a long shot.

Hi, Sandra. My maternal ancestors are Starks of African American decent. Our family lived in Clark and Dallas Counties. I believe Center Point is close by. I know of a George Starks of Crossett Arkansas, who is now deceased, but he was probably born around the time you mentioned. He was known as "Dead Body" Starks. My grandfather, Charlie Starks thought he was a cousin who had to leave Dallas County when he was very young. Good Luck. I have traced my family back to 1860 to a Mary (Ellen) Reynolds who married my ggfather, Robert (Bob) Starks.

Kevin are you still around? Saw yor posting, can you help me look for my father's family? We are from Alabama, around Cherokee Co.,but Ithink my granddaddy(Joseph) daddy(James or Jean?) was from Georgia.
Some names I found have been Howard Rebecca(Mabecca) Hobart Fanny Frank. I have aunts/uncles Lee Katherine Roger Edward Priscilla Barbara and my daddy is eugene. I was told we had relatives in Michigan. Also Smith's Stocks' are closely related.
