Looking for information on the family of Redmond Grigsby
who died in Prince William County in 1809. Will of James
Foster mentions that Benjamin Thomas is to care for Redmond
Grigsby. These families are very closely related. I am
descended from a John Foster who married Dorcas Grigsby,
the daughter of Redmond Grigsby. Redmond Grigsby's 2nd wife
was Elizabeth Thomas. I believe that my John Foster was a
brother to the above James Foster. Need to find a will or
deed mentioning the children of both James Foster and
Redmond Grigsby. Also any marriages.

Hi Steve, Good to hear from You again. There was a Redmond Grigsby that moved to Ky. from Va, ca 1805 with our gggfather John Foster. He must be the son of the Redmond Grigsby you are researching as he stayed & worked with John Foster in Nelson CO Ky.

My ancestor, George Foster, born in Prince William County in 1723, married a Margaret Grigsby in 1746. The Fosters were quite inbred, it seems.

Is there a chance that this Redmond Grigsby could have been closely related to a Nathaniel Grigsby? Both moved from VA to Kentucky in the early 19th century. Sound familiar?

Hey Steve,
I did a little digging around at some of the genealogy sites and I came up with this info:
Apparently the Nathaniel Grigsby that I am researching is the grandson of your Redmond Grigsby. (Nathaniel's father was James Grigsby).
The reason I am searching this family name is for information on Nathaniel's son William Grigsby. (the great-grandson of your Redmond).
If this jargon makes any sense or rings any bells drop me a line and maybe we can pull our info together. :)
