I'm trying to find imfo on Hugh Young (born ca. 1790-1810 )
Married Catherine ? ( ca. 1825-1830 )
Had twin boys born Dec. 14, 1832:
Hugh Young and Thomas Lowery Young.
May have been an older brother named Robert.
From the records that I have found in the USA, Hugh and Catherine came to USA with the twins ca. 1840-1845.
I believe that Robert may have came at an earlier date.
From records that I have found here Thomas L. Young was born on the estate of Lord Dufferin in Killyleagh, County Down, Ireland
I do know that they were Presbyterian so maybe there would be some church records.
I would like to find out Catherine Young's maiden name and the date of the marriage to Hugh Young and if there were any other children born to them, that may have stayed behind in Ireland.
Hope to connect with someone researching this line.

My E-Mail address is Csmitson@aol.com

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Charlene,

I just noticed family search (familysearch.org) has the birth of a Catherine Kennedy in Killyleagh abt 1794 to Robert Kennedy and Jane Martin with an exact date for the marriage of Robert and Jane as Jun 07, 1786 in Killyleagh.
This may be your family.

Charlene, have you looked at Proni Freeholders?
http://www.proni.gov.uk/freeholders/chkSearch.asp

I searched " Young Kill* " because nothing came up at first under a " Young Killyleagh " search.

There was a Joseph Young freeholder in Killyleagh Corporation, Barony of Dufferin, registered in 1818 with "Lives" Joseph and Thomas Young.
Good chance this is your family. Proni might have something in the estate papers, too. http://www.proni.gov.uk/records/private/dufferin.htm

But I still think your best path is to look at Ros Davies site on Killyleagh.
