BOYD'S CREEK

Hello List Readers,
Is there anyone out there who knows whether BOYD'S CREEK is now known as
COLE'S CREEK? On page 4 in THE NATCHEZ COURT RECORDS, by McBee, it
reads (bottom of page)" "Bayou Creek is apparently Cole's Creek, which
was at that time called " " Boyd's Creek ." "

I have searched maps of the Natchez area as far back as the 1700's and
have not found BOYD'S CREEK. There are several members of my ancestry
who received land grants on Boyd's Creek (Guices), in what would become Adams County. I would like to locate their
property. I hope someone out there knows a lot more than I do about
this subject!!

Thanks for the help,
A.Ross Heinle

I can not cite where else I've read that Boyd's Creek became Coles Creek but I have seen it, probably in McBee as well as other material on this area. There are some maps that are not generally know about and it may be that I've seen it there. You may want to contact the Miss. Dept. of Archives at P. O Box 571, Jackson, Ms. There is still a Guice family living in Natchez. Have you tried putting a query in "Family Trees" which is published in the Natchez Democrat weekly. Their e-mail address is<famtree316@aol.com> .Also you may wish to look at microfilm of land records of Adams County, which you can get thru your library. Good luck
