I recently was given a connection to my Grt-Grt Grandfather's sister, Susan Brooke. I knew she had married 1. Christian Ahart in Andrew Co., Missouri in 1864. She then was supposed to have married a VEALE 2nd and a MILLER 3rd but I had no names or dates or where. Recently a lady on the Andrew County GENWEB told me she was on the 1870 census Rochester Twp. in Andrew Co - married to Daniel Veale from Virginia and they had two children: Emanual who was 2 B. Missouri and Lenora C. 10/12 mos . I am still in the process of checking the information but wondered if anyone might be connected to this VEALE link. In going back 10 years, I found Daniel a son of E. C. Veale and wife, Mary. (found his name as Elam C. and as Elmer C.) He died January 5, 1872 and is buried in the Flagg Springs Cemetery, Andrew County, Mo. Would love to hear from anyone who can give me help and/or clues to what happened to Susan. Thanks so much. Can not help you with Susan but I do have a lot of info on the Veale family going back to the mid 1600's. Elam C.(possibly Carter) Veale and Mary Elizabeth Hough were the parents of Daniel Veale and came from Leesburg, Loudoun County, VA.

Elam moved his family to the area around Union Star, DeKalb County, MO. prior to the Civil War. DeKalb County lies next to Andrew County in northwestern part of Missouri.

Daniel's sister, Nellie Veale was my great grandmother. She married Perry J. Sweet.

If you would like more information on this branch of the Veales, you can e-mail me direct.

Only connection I have to VEALE is through Susan Brooke. Was hoping someone would have a connection of their children to keep me going. Looks like Lottie Lehew is now in Montana? I would love to find out where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ginny VBasford@Aol.com
