Has anyone else had a problem with My Heritage? Without any warning email they debited another yearly subscription from my account. Fairly surprising, as my card was past its expiry date. The bank told me that it was possible to do this, yet Find My past was unable to auto-renew my subs and the situation was the same. I told My Heritage this charge was not authorised and I wanted a full refund. I asked several times, eventually getting a reply that asked what email address was registered to my MH account so they could investigate. I heard nothing, sent more emails and kept getting asked the same question: 'What is your email address?' Googling MH and looking at other blogs I see others have had the same problem, as well as a host of other troubles that, if true (I can't verify them) border on the criminal. Someone online suggested that the 'auto-renew charge' is mentioned in the T&Cs when you set the account up. If that's true, it must be well hidden because I would NEVER agree to that with ANY company. Besides, it should be stated clearly in the T&Cs on their website and it isn't. I have changed my account status to 'do not renew next year'. They are based in Israel so I suppose I am just going to have to put it down to experience: there are better sites out there and I shall use them and advise others to do the same.

You might try contacting them via their message boards.
I`ve had a quick look and it seems like staff respond there to queries.

I already did that, on a board where someone else had complained there about the auto-charge without warning and that he had contacted them loads of times without reply. So he went on the boards and posted there. He seems to have got a reply that way; I haven't. Google 'Complaints bout My Heritage' and there are a few disgruntled customers out there

Yes, I did get a refund eventually. I didn't phone them, just kept threatening them with emails, saying I was going to give them adverse publicity by putting people off their product. It's going back a bit now, but I think I went on an online genealogical forum (can't recall which) and detailed my experience, and at least one person replied the were put off going with MH because I've what I'd written. I kept MH informed of this and anything else I did, pointing out that by angering me they had made no more money because it was more than balanced by the (at least one) bit of business I'd lost them. Pathetic to the last and even though I got my full refund, they didn't contact me to tell me I was going to get a refund - I just looked at my statements over the following weeks and saw it had been refunded. No apology or anything, but at least I got it back. Good luck
