My husband's Grandfather was Milton Porter Runyon of Daytona Beach, Volusia County, FL.
I am a genealogy freak so I am excited by what I was given recently when my husband's parent's died. His mother still had boxes and boxes of things she had gotten when her mother (Milton Porter Runyon’s wife died.) In one of the boxes I found a 'very' old book..."A Genealogy of the Descendants of Richard Porter'- who settled at Weymouth, Mass, 1635. Also some accounts of the descendants of John Porter who settled at Hingham, Mass 1635 and Salem #Danvers# Mass 1644. It is written by Joseph W Porter of Burlington, Maine in 1878. There are a lot of hand written pages of notes and some newspaper clippings. I can’t determine who wrote the notes, perhaps my husband’s grandfather wrote them. The book's binding is in very poor shape but all the pages are there. I know what a treasure this is for someone. If anyone is interested, please contact me at bstraton@bellsouth.net. Please have some sort of proof - family tree on Ancestry.com or another sit; that you are of the Porter family. I am located NW of Atlanta, GA. Looking forward to hearing from someone.
Thanks, Beth Tyner Straton

Beth, I tried to email you about the Porter book, but it bounced - showing the problem was with the address.

You can reach me a mahthellin(at)gmail.com.

I'm interested in your Virginia Porter family.
I know my great-grandfather's brother went to Virginia - probably around the mid-1800's. We're not quite sure what his name was as there were a few brothers!
It could be William, Daniel or John.

Hello, My name is Patty Porter Rowe. I do have ancestors by the name of Richard Porter. Your welcome to check my Porter Geneology out. Im loving geneology and hope to follow in my great aunts foot steps, she passed away 5 years ago. I was thinking she would be amazed at how far geneology has come on computers. She wrote all or typed all info she set me. God Bless!

What a great find. My Great Grandfather was Frank Rayburn Porter born in MA in 1873! Did you give all your information away or would the person you sent it to be willing to share any of it?
