These are the surnames I am researching in St. Helena Parish. I am descended from William Allen who previously lived in MS, TN, and GA and arrived c. 1803, Hezekiah Williams who previously lived in Natchez and South Carolina, Tobias Reams who previously lived on the Tombigbee in AL, and John Stephenson who previously lived in Natchez. Surnames of some of their wives were Anders, Pride, and Burgess. Would like to share research with anyone interested in these families.

I too am researching the Williams, Burgess and Reams families from St. Helena. These families are so far back in my tree that I haven't actually done any research yet. I do have some date I got off the internet, but haven't yet verified any of that information.

I am also researching the Day family who moved to Jefferson/Orange counties in Texas from St Helena. These Day's married Allen's, Williams, Reams, and Stephensons as well as Richardsons.

Yes, I've seen the Day family around often. My ancestor, Elizabeth Williams, first married Robert Henry Day, before she married my g.grandfather, George W. Haynes. He was a son of Jeremiah Day, I believe. Are you also an Allen, Stephenson, Williams, or Reams?

I am related to the Day family. James Durham Day was my gg grandfather. His father was Thomas Warren Day, son of Jeremiah and Frances Hart Day. I am trying to locate more information on Jeremiah's parents and siblings. Any clues?

I am looking for information to identify, Ripley Rheams (Reams) and his ancestors. My great-grandfather (6 generations-paternally and 7 generations-maternally) was William Allen of South Carolina. William Allen, Jr. came to St Helena Parish in 1800-1810 with Peter, Gideon. Another brother, Matthew 's widow followed in 1836 with her 6 sons and 1 daughter. One of the sons, Herod Allen was my great-grandfather PATERNALLY and the daugher, Rhoda Jane Allen (Herod's sister) was my great-great grandmother MATERNALLY.

Rhoda Jane Allen married Ripley Rheams (Reams) and the only information that I have found on him is he is listed the "1850 Livingston Parish Mortality Index" published as part of the 1850 Census that says he had pneumonia for 6 days and died at age 26. He left a wife (Rhoda Jane Allen) and 2 small children, Marghana Rheams and her brother Richardson Allen Rheams, my great grandfather.

Since my g-grandfather 's name is Richardson Allen Rheams, his middle name is from his mother 's maiden name and we think his first name was probably his dad 's mother 's maiden name.

Do you show any connections between the families Allen, Rheams(Reams) and Richardson and/or do you have any record of Ripley Rheams, 1824-1850

Gerald, I have no record of Ripley in my files, but the spelling of his last name and his locale suggests he's a descendant of Tobias Reams. I would like to discuss this with you, and the Allens, at length, so I will try to contact you via e-mail. If I can't, please contact me at clbkroeger@aol.com. Thanks.

Robert, there were two William Allens in St. Helena Parish very early. Some of us are trying to distinguish them now. My William Allen was never in SC, as far as I know. He was in Georgia briefly before moving to Tennessee. He moved to the Wilkinson Co. MS area by 1805. I think your William was in St. Helena first, in the Southern part, and mine lived in the Northern part. One signed a petition in the MS Territory in 1800, and I don't believe that one is mine. Do you know when yours left SC?
