Sylvester King Sojourner birthplace? Kirk, Terry, LA?

I'd appreciate some guesses at Sylvester's birthplace. The World War I draft registration card for Sylvester King Sojourner, b 5 Jun 1888, lists his birthplace. It looks (handwritten and only so-so clarity) for all the world like "Kirk, Terry, La" He is enumerated elsewhere as born in Louisiana, so that seems correct, but the closest place I can come up with for his place of birth is Terrebonne Parish, but there doesn't appear to be anything like "Kirk" in that parish, or in Louisiana.

Anyone have a guess at the location? Is Terrebonne called "Terry" by locals? Anything like that?

Thanks for *any* guesses.

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I found a WWII Draft Reg. Card for Sylvester King Sojourner at FamilySearch.org.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11062-21338-28?...

It states;

Sylvester King Sojourner
B. 5 Jun 1888, Kirks Ferry, Catahoula Parish, LA
Residence: Kaufman, TX

The WWI looks like Kirk Ferry also.

Hope this helps!
